Michael moved to approve the minutes. Lance seconded the motion. There were no objections. -------------- New Discussion: Standard Power Integrity Model (SPIM) BIRD draft: Kinger reviewed the changes contained draft7, which he had sent to the ATM list. These changes were enumerated in the email sent with draft7. Kinger said he had received no new feedback since sending draft7. Arpad and Kinger asked everyone to carefully review the draft and provide feedback. PSIJ Sensitivity BIRD draft: Kinger said he had received no new feedback. Arpad suggested that Kinger create a new draft by applying all relevant suggestions that he had received for the SPIM BIRD. Kinger agreed with this suggestion, and he asked everyone to focus on the SPIM BIRD draft for now. He said he would update the PSIJ sensitivity BIRD draft once he had gathered all the feedback from the SPIM BIRD draft. Multi-level analog buffer modeling (PAMn, C-phy, etc.): Arpad noted that IBIS 7.1 supports PAM4, and IBIS 7.2 will support PAMn, but only in the AMI context. For conventional analog IBIS [Model]s, we lack some- thing analogous for PAMn support. He said one concern about trying to address this had been that I-V, V-T, K(t) curve handling could get very complicated, and people had been hesitant to overhaul the specification in such a profound way. However, he noted that he had created a Verilog-A model utilizing the [External Model] keyword for a GDDR6x presentation he and Randy had done. Since IBIS only considers a two-level stimulus, he had devised a scheme where the two-level stimulus served as a clock pattern, and he read the new symbol value from a file at each clock transition. Randy had suggested that a minimal solution for IBIS might be to introduce native IBIS support for a multi-level stimulus input for multi-lingual models. This could then be used by people willing to create PAMn analog models using the [External Model] or [External Circuit] keywords. Arpad said he would think about this more and discuss it at a future meeting. - Curtis: Motion to adjourn. - Michael: Second. - Arpad: Thank you all for joining. ------------- Next meeting: 24 January 2023 12:00pm PT ------------- IBIS Interconnect SPICE Wish List: 1) Simulator directives
